Thin, long LED lights bisecting blackened aluminum ceiling panels on a Brooklyn, N.Y., office entrance threshold look like the inside of a neo-industrial kaleidoscope. Its custom finish—in both gloss and matte features—has a patina effect aided by organic pigments and pearlescent inks. An optical texture appears in the material when light diffuses off the surface. In addition to contrasting the metal, the custom lighting brightens the entrance, especially at night.
