3A Composites Americas is celebrating a series of major achievements across its Americas manufacturing footprint. The company is marking a significant milestone: its Statesville, N.C. plant has maintained its Occupational Safety and Health Administration  (OSHA) Carolina Star safety certification for 25 consecutive years, setting a benchmark for the entire organization.
The achievement is bolstered by two additional recognitions: the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for its Benton, Ky. facility, and the forthcoming Community Impact Award for the Glasgow, Ky. team.

Statesville, N.C.
The Carolina Star Program recognizes leaders in occupational safety and health who implement exemplary management systems that go above and beyond standard compliance.
“For 25 years, our Statesville team has not only met but consistently exceeded these rigorous safety standards as part of our core values and manufacturing excellence principles, demonstrating the commitment to a safe workplace for everyone,” a company press release reads.
“The decision to pursue and maintain Star certification began decades ago and is rooted in our fundamental commitment to safety and each other,” says Leda Ochoa, Statesville plant manager. “It’s about performing our daily tasks in a way that prioritizes the safety of everyone who enters our plant. Doing the right thing means keeping everyone safe and it aligns perfectly with our company’s values of integrity and accountability, reinforcing that safety always comes first and is non-negotiable.”
Nick Scheib, president and CEO, adds, “Statesville’s 25-year Star certification is an extraordinary accomplishment and an incredible example for our entire organization. Their commitment to safety directly supports operational excellence and our ability to deliver quality to our customers. I couldn’t be prouder of the Statesville team.”
As an occupational safety and health ISO14001 and 45001 certified site, Statesville operations adhere to robust protocols. This approach has yielded the following safety record:
• Nearly 1.5 million hours without a lost-time incident.
• More than 2,500 days without a recordable lost-time incident.
• A severity and incident rate of zero.

Further Achievements
The Statesville milestone is complemented by further achievements across 3A Composites Americas:
• The plant in Benton, Ky., has recently been honored with the Governor’s Safety and Health Award. Like Statesville, this recognition highlights its exemplary record of working thousands of employee hours without a lost-time injury.
• The Glasgow, Ky. location received the Community Impact Award at the recent Barren Inc. (Glasgow Chamber of Commerce) Industry Impact Awards Banquet on September 25, 2025. This award recognizes the Glasgow team’s involvement and positive contributions to their local community.
