The American Institute of Steel Construction is calling for entries for what it describes as “the pinnacle of design achievement in the structural steel industry”—the IDEAS Awards.
The 2027 edition invites submissions showcasing the versatility of structural steel across five categories:
- Adaptive reuse
- Architecture
- Constructability
- Engineering
- Sustainable design and construction
In addition to completed projects, the IDEAS|next award recognizes concepts that are still on the boards. Projects with a client and designated site are eligible for recognition before the first piece of steel is erected.
“It is an honor to continue to recognize the premier structural steel projects in the U.S., whether they are already standing or are still inspiring visions being refined in a design studio,” said AISC director of architecture Nima Balasubramanian.
Entries are due by August 31, 2026. For more information, visit aisc.org/ideas.
