Central States Inc. officially opened the doors to its 12th manufacturing facility last week, a steel frame plant in Springdale, Ark., to support its Central States Building Works division.

The 9,754 m2 (105,000-sf) facility will support Central States’ rapidly expanding pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) business. With more than $24 million invested in the plant, the site features advanced steel structure manufacturing technologies, including advanced welding systems and automated robotics designed to meet exacting standards while reducing lead times.

“We are building something new at Central States,” says Jennifer Davis, president, Central States Building Works. “This facility represents the culmination of years of customer insights, planning, and preparation. It extends our unwavering commitment to our customers and employee-owners with new capabilities. Producing built-up rigid frames and structural steel enhances our building package offering. We know from growing our industrial footprint in the United States over the years that exceptional service, quality, and innovation can help our customers build their businesses.”

The plant is expected to create approximately 50 new jobs in 2025, with plans to grow the site to 140 employees as additional shifts and capabilities are added. It is the latest addition to Central States’ growing national footprint, which includes 12 manufacturing sites and multiple offices across the United States. The company’s 13th factory will open later this year in Tooele, Utah.

Ribbon Cutting Held August 7

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on August 7 at the plant, was attended by state and local officials, community leaders, and chamber of commerce representatives.

Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse spoke at the event and praised the company’s investment in the community:

“Central States has been a valued part of northwest Arkansas for decades, and this new facility reinforces their deep roots here. We’re excited to see the economic and workforce impact this plant will bring to Springdale.
