Star Building Systems undergoes personnel changes

After an accomplished 39 year career in the metal building industry, Phil Symes announced his plans to retire following the completion of Star’s Builder Conferences to be held in April 2013.

Symes joined the Star organization in 1989 as the Central Region Sales Manager and was appointed
Director of Sales in 2003. He accepted his current position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing in
2006. Under his leadership, Star’s sales force has grown its Builder base, increased market coverage and enhanced Star’s industry leading position.

John Negich has acceptedthe position of Vice President of Sales for Star. Negich joined Star in 1985 as District Manager for the Pittsburgh District. During his tenure he has also served as Region Manager for Star’s Eastern Region and most recently for Star’s Northern Region. Negich’s communications and management skills have been proven in the relationships he has forged with both Star’s sales force and Star’s Builders.

Doug Clark has accepted a promotion to Region Manager for Star’s Northern Region. Clark began his career in the metal building industry when he joined Star Building Systems as an
authorized Star Builder in 1986. He worked with Star as a Builder until 1999, when he accepted a
position with Star as District Sales Manager for the Pittsburgh District. He excelled in this position and
developed a strong Builder base in his District, utilizing his extensive product knowledge and technical
skills to recruit, train and service.
