
The Metal Construction Association (MCA) announced featured events and speakers for its 2024 winter meeting. Members and prospective members are invited to attend a three-day event taking place Jan. 29 to Jan. 31 in Scottsdale, Ariz., at Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas.
The meeting’s keynote presentation, From Washington to Your Workplace: Tactics and Strategies the Smartest Leaders Are Making to Navigate and Grow in 2024–2025, will be presented by Gene Marks, author and business advisor. Marks will discuss significant changes to business that artificial intelligence (AI) will herald, how evolving federal and local regulatory changes will affect business operations, and how to anticipate and navigate coming economic and industry challenges.
Events include the following:
- Codes and standards session: Dave Cocuzzi, technical director at the National Coil Coating Association (NCCA), and Bob Zabcik will discuss sustainability and ongoing chemistry issues.
- MRA session: Mark Zehnal, director at FORTIFIED Roof at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), and Renee Ramey will discuss a residential roof program and opportunities available through certification programs.
- Keynote session: Steve Lowrey, founder at Steel Research Associates, will discuss how to make strategic decisions to anticipate the market and share data about the steel industry, including roofing, siding, and walls.
The meeting will also include industry education topics, highlights from METALCON, council meetings, a golf outing to support the new MCA scholarship program, and networking opportunities.
