Coatings restore roofs, walls
APV Engineered Coatings’ custom color-matched, field-applied NeverFade restoration coatings for architectural metal applications have primers and topcoats in water-based formulations with Kynar Aquatec PVDF resin. The coatings provide a 20-year life cycle on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and anodized aluminum with an air-dry, low-VOC coating. Typical applications use a primer and topcoat. Four primers are available: W-1500 Universal Primer, W-1650 Bonding Primer, W-1400 Elastomeric Primer and two-part 2K Corrosion-Resistant Primer. There are three topcoats: Original Restoration Topcoat, Metal Restoration Topcoat and two-part 2K Performance Topcoat. NeverFade coatings come with a 15-year product-and-labor guarantee.
Finishes have low gloss
Steelscape LLC’s Natural Matte exterior finishes for metal roof and wall panels have low gloss and sheen. Microscopic, light-disruptive paint technology reduces visible shine. Six colors are available: Basalt, Carbon, Frost, Graphite, Ore and Shale. Natural Matte finishes come with a 40-year finish warranty and 30-year color fade warranty.

Coatings are customizable
Isaiah Industries Inc.’s ThermoBond powder coating system for steel and aluminum shingles is applied on top of pre-painted PVDF finishes. Each color blends four or more powder colors and adds durability, a tactile texture and slip resistance. Colors can be customized to match old roofs, create unique colors and complement house designs.
Finishes feature textures
Pure + FreeForm’s MetaMetal collection of finished flat aluminum sheets has organic inks and FEVE resins to create the finishes. Panels for ceilings, walls and other applications are fabricated from 48-inch-wide by 120-inch-long sheets. The MetaMetal collection has eight customizable colors: Bohemian, Bungalow, Dune, Float, Opaline, Patria, Southside and Spring.

Zinc has matte coating
Sheet Metal Supply Ltd. offers zinc standing seam roof panels, tiles, coil, sheets, trim and flashing coated with RHEINZINK America Inc.’s RHEINZINK GRANUM coating, a phosphate coating for zinc that has a matte appearance. GRANUM Skygrey has a light-phosphated surface variation and GRANUM Basalte has a dark-phosphated surface variation.
Coating resists corrosion
PPG Industries Inc.’s Coraflon Platinum powder coating is for architectural extrusions and sheet aluminum. It is a fluoroethylene vinyl ether (FEVE) fluoropolymer powder coating with high transfer efficiency rates of more than 20% and corrosion resistance.
Metal mimics wood
Petersen Aluminum Corp.’s 16 PVDF PAC-CLAD wood grain patterns mimic wood on metal panels and coil. The wood grain patterns are produced on 22- and 24-gauge steel, 0.032-inch-, 0.04-inch- and 0.05-inch-thick aluminum, and 36 1/4-inch-wide coil.

Windows come in colors
Crystal Window and Door Systems Ltd.’s stock colors for aluminum window and door products include Black, Bronze, Champagne Topaz, Newport Blue, Revolutionary and Timeless Gold. The powder coat finishes meet AAMA 2604 and AAMA 2605 specifications.
Anodize finish looks like copper
Linetec’s copper anodize finish for architectural aluminum products looks like a copper penny. The anodize finish complies with Living Building Challenge criteria, is Red List free and meets the AAMA 611 Class I specification.
