Metal Benderz offers cold-formed steel (CFS) panelized structural walls with G60 and G90 coatings. Standard web sizes are 2 1/2 inches to 14 inches. Flange sizes can be 1 3/8 inches, 1 5/8 inches, 2 inches, 2 1/2 inches or 3 inches. Materials in thicknesses from 33 mils (20-gauge) to 97 mils (12-gauge) are available in 33 kilo-pounds per square inch (ksi) steel. Thicknesses 54 mils (16-gauge), 68 mils (14-gauge) and 97 mils (12-gauge) are available in 50 ksi steel. CFS panelized structural walls work well in projects with three to seven (or more) stories.

Simpson Strong-Tie’s SBR and DBR spacer bracers for cold-formed steel construction enable fast stud layout and reduce the need for bridging clips. Pre-punched slots allow 12-inch, 16-inch and 24-inch on-center stud spacing. DBR spacer bracers are for interior walls; they’re designed to eliminate stud bow and allow for quick drywall attachment. SBR spacer bracers are for structural exterior walls. Both provide bracing along the length of studs and for head-of-wall slip conditions.

The Steel Network’s DriftTrak Headed Stud is a light-steel framing connector for panelized construction. It integrates directly into slabs before they’re poured. DriftTrak Head Stud functions as an attachment to a slab instead of welding to the pour stop or using powder-actuated fasteners. Once concrete is poured, DriftTrak Head Stud is ready to support steel framing using a DriftTrak Bypass clip (DTSLB or DTLB) to accommodate vertical deflection and lateral drift requirements in floor slab bypass conditions.
