Categories
Projects can be industrial, commercial, institutional, or residential in the following categories:
- Metal Building Systems (additions or retrofits)
- Metal Roofing (new construction)
- Metal Roofing (retrofit)
- Metal Walls (new construction)
- Metals Walls (retrofit)
- Metal Craftmanship (quality and uniqueness, not works of art, sculptures, or manufacturing pieces)
- Modular Buildings (new!)
In addition, a Best Overall project will be chosen from an entry in one of the above categories.
Prizes
All winners will be featured in the December 2026 issue of Metal Construction News and receive a plaque commemorating their achievements.
Deadline
Entries must be received by September 11, 2026 via the MCN Project Excellence Awards Portal.
Project Eligibility
- Industrial, commercial, institutional, or residential construction projects are to have been completed (or the metal portion completed) after January 1, 2026.
- Industrial, commercial, institutional, or residential construction projects completed after January 1, 2025—but did not win an award in the previous year’s contest—are eligible.
- For submissions in the Metal Building Systems category, please include the metal building manufacturer.
Images
A minimum of three (3) photos must accompany each entry though more are welcome and encouraged. Please do not submit more than 12 images. Quality photography increases the chances of a project receiving stronger consideration, but please limit the image files to 10MB each.
Rights to all images must be transferable for Metal Construction News’ use in print and electronic media.
Kenilworth Photo Submission Terms of Agreement
Any party (“Submitter”) submitting photographs, diagrams, charts, drawings, or other information (“Materials”) that may appear in Kenilworth Media Inc. publications represents that:
- Submitter is granting to Kenilworth Media Inc. the right to publish those Materials, in any of its publications without claiming a royalty or any other fee for itself or any third party;
- Submitter has the right to transmit the Materials to Kenilworth Media Inc., and no permission or additional rights need to be sought or granted;
- Submitter will indemnify and hold Kenilworth Media Inc. free and harmless from and against any and all expenses, including costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees that may be incurred because of claims that the appearances of any Materials in a Kenilworth Media Inc. publication were unauthorized or constitute the violation of any copyrights, trademarks or other rights of such claimant.
- Remember to provide correct photo credit information.

By submitting this nomination, the nominator certifies that, to the best of their knowledge, all information provided is true, accurate, and complete.
All submitted materials become the property of Metal Construction News with the express understanding they will never be loaned or given to third parties without the submitter’s knowledge or permission.
Judging Criteria
Projects may be judged in multiple categories, but no project can be named a winner or honorable mention in more than one category.
Projects will be judged by representatives of the metal construction industry.
