JDavis Architects PLLC designed the Skydeck outdoor terraces area at F.N.B. (First National Bank) Tower with a glass windscreen. The modern 22-story, mixed-use building’s Skydeck has a pool and two terraces facing north and south with space for al fresco dining and views of the city.
The 420,000-square-foot F.N.B. Tower was built with low-emissivity, floor-to-ceiling windows, metal skin and vertical mirror glass fins. It has 239 apartments, and office and retail spaces.
On the Skydeck, Choate Construction Co. installed Trex Commercial Products’ Ascent Glass Windscreen System. The 6-foot-tall windscreen has 9/16-inch-thick, clear, tempered, laminated glass with SentryGlas Plus interlayer film. It is post-supported and attached with baseplates and epoxy anchors, and withstands 80-psf wind loads.
