This project added approximately 174,000 square feet (16,165 m2) to the Phoenix Sports Center. It provided a highly visible and attractive activity center for students, faculty, staff and community members, while significantly expanding the opportunities for organized and unorganized fitness and recreation activities. The venue was suitable for large-attendance campus events that foster a sense of community and connection with the local region, including convocations, commencements, student organization and new student welcome activities, in addition to small concerts and performances.
The project featured 550 squares (5,110 m2) of Fabral’s Stand N’ Seam standing-seam metal roof panels. Each 327-foot- (100-m-) long panel was curved and field-formed.
