Sarasota Yacht Club, Sarasota, Fla.

The new 22,000-square-foot facility was designed as "coastal contemporary," that replaced an aging building that had nice architectural aesthetics but was beyond renovation. The previous structure was built on grade in 1958 and saltwater would sometimes lap at the dining room windows during tropical storms. The new clubhouse is built up, as required by FEMA, and offers a better oval view of the marina plus covered parking. The PAC-CLAD standing-seam roof from Petersen Aluminum Corp., gives the building the desired Florida coastal look. Petersen supplied 23,000 square feet of 0.040-inch aluminum 16-inch Tite-Loc Plus panels finished in PAC-CLAD Valspar Fluropon Silver.
