In its design for USA BMX’s bicycle racing arena and a combined hall of fame and headquarters building, Todd Architecture Group specified two metal building systems.
Fleming Steel Erectors furnished and erected Butler Manufacturing’s metal building systems for Hardesty National BMX Stadium and the hall of fame and headquarters building. The project also includes metal roof and wall assemblies.
The stadium is 125,000 square feet with a 36-foot-high eave. It has 273-foot clear-span frames. Fleming Steel erected approximately 90,000-pound mod-lifts per slope on the arena over a 15-foot-deep pit for the race track.
Both buildings’ roofs were built with Butler MR- 24 standing seam roof system in Solar White. For walls, Berridge Manufacturing Co. supplied HR-16 corrugated metal wall panels.
The 14,000-square-foot hall of fame and headquarters building has a single-sloped roof and 17-foot-high eave. Fleming Steel insulated it with Bay Insulation Systems Inc.’s insulation system.
