Reflecting the colors of the sky, a stylized motif based on pinwheels dot and decorate perforated metal panels paying homage to traditional Japanese shrine festivals. Punctuating the façade of The Kozakai Kifukan Community Center in Toyokawa, Japan, this ornamentation gives local residents a sense of ownership and belonging. The panels are extremely weather resistant, reducing maintenance costs over the long term.
