When the industry gathers in Orlando for METALCON this fall, Metal Construction News will be among the Legacy 10 companies honored for exhibiting at every show since the event’s launch in 1991.

“Metal Construction News founder John Lawrence—who was involved in the early development of both the Metal Construction Association and METALCON—strongly believed the industry needed a highly focused event built specifically for metal construction professionals,” said MCN executive publisher Melanie Kowal. “And for 35 years, METALCON has done just that.”

METALCON is an annual tradeshow and conference that brings together contractors, architects, developers, owners, installers, fabricators, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the metal construction industry.

Metal Construction News has exhibited at METALCON since its inception, reflecting the publication’s longstanding connection to the metal construction industry and the show’s origins.

“METALCON is a key element in what we feel is the most effective approach to industry engagement: the trifecta of print, online, and in-person,” Kowal continued. “While publications like Metal Construction News keep the industry informed year-round, nothing beats face-to-face interaction for building relationships and doing business.”

The Legacy 10 includes Metal Construction News, along with AkzoNobel, ATAS International, Atlas Bolt & Screw, AZZ Precoat Metals, Englert, McElroy Metal, Metal Rollforming Systems, PPG, and Roof Hugger.

These exhibitors will be recognized in a variety of ways leading up to and during the show, which is scheduled for October 7-9 at the Orange County Convention Center.

“These companies have supported METALCON from the very beginning and, in many ways, helped build the event into what it is today,” said Judy Geller, METALCON vice president of tradeshows.

Perspectives from the Legacy 10

“[METALCON] is a critical touchpoint with the people and the industries we serve. As a longtime exhibitor, we find METALCON a unique opportunity to connect face-to-face with contractors, fabricators, manufacturers, and industry partners who rely on fastening solutions every day.” — Don Bratcher, Atlas Building Products

“It’s important for MRS to exhibit at METALCON so we can have face-to-face conversations, allowing us to really get a deeper understanding of what our customers’ challenges and priorities are. These connections allow us to stay ahead of market trends and provide solutions for the evolving priorities of the industry.” — Bill Griffin, Metal Rollforming Systems

“Our ongoing support and lead sponsorship of the Design District reflect our commitment to collaboration, industry leadership, and the community of manufacturers, architects, and designers.” — Steve Rutkowski, PPG Industrial Coatings
