Chinese art is arguably the oldest continuous tradition in the world and is marked by an unusual degree of weaved continuity. MingHua USA is the first Chinese tier-one automotive supplier in South Carolina, and its new 238,000-square-foot, single-story facility in Greer reflects some of that weaving. Designers at Spartanburg, S.C.- based McMillan Pazdan Smith used perforated metal throughout its exterior to create a metal-weaved façade. Not only does it add intrigue to the facility’s exterior, it’s a natural wayfinding element that visually guides guests to its entrance. Oakland, Calif.-based Móz Design’s aluminum with 1/4-inch perforations and 3/8-inch staggered holes in Mist Grain clear poly matte finish was used. Poles are 4-inch diameter aluminum tube in clear finish.
