For a mixed-use building at 260 North Josephine St. at the corner of Third Avenue in Denver, Studio Architecture LLC designed a stepped building with abundant glazing. The glazing provides daylighting and views to the northwest, and the stepped design broke up the scale of the building and met zoning requirements. Another way Open Studio Architecture broke up the scale of the 70,000-square-foot building was with two types of metal panels and one wood panel.
On all four sides of the building, MG McGrath Inc. installed 10,160 square feet of CENTRIA’s 20-gauge IW Series metal rainscreen panels and flashings in Midnight Bronze.
At the north, east and west sides of the building, MG McGrath fabricated and installed 967 square feet of Arconic Architectural Products LLC’s Reynobond metal composite material panels in Titanium. The MCM is 4-mm thick and has a PE core. MG McGrath fabricated the MCM for its custom D-Set panel system.
At the north and west sides of the building, MG McGrath installed fire-treated Western Red Cedar wood panels with a clear coat.
