Silver pyramids jut out over the skyline with kaleidoscopic effect. As the sun moves across the Juarez, Mexico, sky, the light and shadows change constantly. Even at night, colored lights strike the sharp angles, producing an other-worldly appearance. These effects on the FEMAP Nursing School’s façade are the result of Reynobond aluminum composite material (ACM) by Arconic Architectural Products LLC, Eastman, Ga. To produce what architect GRUPO ARKHOS, Juarez calls a “tasellated geometry,” screens were fabricated using one standard-sized ACM sheet, cut in four pieces, to create the pyramids.
